Youngok Baek

Youngok is a final year undergraduate at Magdalene College studying Psychological and Behavioural Sciences. She began her dance journey in Singapore with Chinese traditional dance, before she shifted her focus to contemporary dance, taking part in various competitions and productions both as a dancer and a choreographer. Her subsequent introduction to ballet as a teenager was hence not the earliest, but in hindsight, its influence has always been in the background, informing movements in both Chinese and contemporary dance. Taking part in the society’s productions and meeting fellow dancers have brightened up her university life, and she looks forward to contributing to the society to enable more people to be exposed to ballet and nurture their love for dance!
