home / about / Committee / Show DirectorMy name is Jenny, and I’m a sociocultural anthropologist (BA, Churchill College; PhD-in-progress, King’s College). Over the past several years, I’ve been studying haptic epistemologies and the politics of contemporary art in Mongolia and Inner Asia. Prior to anthropology, I trained professionally in classical ballet, with the privilege of studying with incredible teachers at/from Ellison Ballet (New York), Académie Princesse Grace (Monaco), and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, among other wonderful places. I’ve previously served as President of the Cambridge University Ballet Club in 2018-19 and directed Don Quixote (2019). In recent years, I’ve become increasingly interested in contemporary styles of expression based on classical ballet vocabulary. Alexander Ekman, Crystal Pite, and Christopher Wheeldon are a few of my current favourite choreographers. I am beyond excited to direct another ballet for Cambridge, and to share with our community this magical art form that inspires me endlessly in life.
